Here at the Miss April, we support Money Smart Week (April 22–29) as part of Financial Literacy Month. Throughout the United States, consumers like you are invited to thousands of free financial education classes and seminars held by local and regional organizations. The classes and seminars cover a wide variety of money-management topics such as buying a house, credit management, saving for college, and financing retirement. Check out online to find events in your area.
While Money Smart Week takes up only seven of the 365 days in a year, you can also be money smart all year long with our online tips and information. Our goal is to arm people with the information, steps, and tools that they need to make informed financial decisions for their personal situation and goals.
Here are a few sections to get you started:
- Ask Miss April: You can use this online tool to find hundreds of clear, unbiased answers to common money questions.
"Buying a House": If you’re thinking about buying a home, this tool guides you through the process. It breaks down applying for a mortgage into four phases with useful tools to help you explore interest rates and prepare for closing.
- Money as You Grow: You can use our activities and conversation starters to help your children build money skills, habits, and attitudes that can serve them well as adults.
