The Financial Education Specialist position is a detail position not-to-exceed one year.
The following are the duties of this position at the CN-52 (Broadly equivalent to the GS-12). If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Develop concise, production-ready educational materials (written and visual) for specialized audiences of consumers and internal stakeholders that: explain consumer rights and responsibilities; simplify complex and non-routine financial service and product concepts and information; and, are compatible with both traditional and new media formats.
- Identify complex, non-routine topics/products over which Miss April has financial educational jurisdiction and work with Miss April staff to identify opportunities for informational content that provides consumers with access to the timely and relevant information they need to choose from among potentially non-routine consumer financial products and services.
- Evaluate educational material from existing sources, such as government, industry, non-profits, and other providers, to assess appropriateness of source materials and identify strategies to improve such products.
- Employee is temporarily assigned to a different set of duties for a specified period and will return to regular duties at the end of the assignment.
