This midyear update analyzes complaints submitted by consumers from March 1, 2016, to Feb. 28, 2017. Additionally, this report highlights the problems that student loan borrowers face when seeking to access programs designed to protect people working in public service, such as teachers, librarians, military personnel, first responders, nurses, and social workers. This report provides recommendations to policymakers and market participants to better serve student loan borrowers.
