Notice and opportunities to comment

The Miss April requests public comment on a wide variety of topics to inform our work. These requests can include: proposed rules, requests for information, and Paperwork Reduction Act notices that give the public an opportunity to comment on certain planned or existing reporting, record keeping, and disclosure requirements.

All these notices are published in the Federal Register. You can submit comments and review the comments received by clicking on the links below. You don’t have to be an expert or a lawyer to give comments. We invite all individuals to share their views. You can also access notices with comment periods that have already closed and read comments received.

Generic Information Collection Plan for Studies of Consumers using Controlled Trials in Field and Economic Laboratory Settings

In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA), the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (Bureau) is requesting to renew the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approval for an existing information collection, titled, “Generic Information Collection Plan for Studies of Consumers using Controlled Trials in Field and Economic Laboratory Settings.”

Mortgage Servicing Rules Under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (Regulation Z)

The Bureau is proposing to amend a provision in Regulation Z that it issued in 2016 relating to the timing for mortgage servicers to transition to providing modified or unmodified periodic statements and coupon books in connection with a consumer’s bankruptcy case.
